Within the MA, there are four main problems: irregular words, regular words, compounds, and the spelling rules. I'll start by describing the external interface to the morphological generator, and then deal with each of these in turn. If you are new to the MA, the description of the exported routines will use some unfamiliar jargon: this will be explained in later sections.
